Boxing Preview 3-11-11

Should be a nice night of fighting. If you can, go out and support your local boxers.

Polanco, Distrito Federal, Mexico

Simona Galassi (14-0-1, 1 NC) vs. Mariana Juarez (27-5-3)

When it comes to momentum, Juarez has not lost since July of ’07. Galassi hasn’t not won since the same month (her no contest). I’d call that a wash for momentum. Juarez is fighting in her native Mexico, so she wins the hometown advantage. It’s a fight of the #’s 2 & 3 Lightweights in the world. Seems to be a pretty even fight (There’s  a reason boxrec.com gave it 5 stars). I’m going with Juarez for the win.

al. Pilsudzkiego 44, Olsztyn, Poland

Mateusz Masternak (21-0) vs. Ali Ismailov (18-4-1)

21-0, 15 knockouts, fighting in his native Poland against a native of Ukraine. Ismailov is 3 for his last 5. His numbers do look impressive, but he looks like he’s getting fed to Masternak on a silver platter. I wouldn’t be surprised to see Ismailov pull this one off, but this fight looks like a scheduled beating.

Las Vegas, Nevada, United States

Tye Fields (45-2) vs. Michael Grant (46-4)

This should be a great fight as two experienced veterans are going to slug it out. Both are a wash with experience. Fields gets the knockout advantage. (87.23 %) Fields also has the momentum (4 in a row), while Grant lost his last fight. I’d be surprised if this goes to a decision. Fields gets the win.
